What is the Neighbourhood plan?

It's a planning document that Sefton Council has to take notice of when making decisions about planning applications in Lydiate. It is a legal document that complements Sefton's Local Plan.

The Plan sets out polices for future housing development in Lydiate to ensure we protect and enhance green spaces, the character of Lydiate and ensure that any development that does take place is in keeping with Lydiate's character and of good design quality.

What are the policies trying to do?

- To protect and enhance the character of Lydiate -To ensure development of the land north of Kenyons Lane is in keeping with the local area, protecting and enhancing green space insisting on good housing design. -To ensure development of the site opposite the Village Centre, Lambshear Lane, (should it be developed in the future) is developed in keeping with the local area. - To ensure improvements to existing footpaths, cycle ways and bridle paths.

Welcome to the website of Lydiate Parish Council

Welcome to our new and improved website.

2017 has been a busy year for the Parish Council. We’ve welcomed our new Clerk, Carol Farquhar, Clerical Officer, Laura Johnson and Councillor Ian Wilson. All of whom are great additions to the Parish Council.

There are three big events coming up in 2018.

The first is a new Parent and Toddler group, starting June 8th 2018. This will be a great opportunity to meet other parents/ guardians with young children for free play in a safe and relaxed environment. Refreshments will be available for a small donation.

The second is an additional session to our Community Cafe and over 50's group which is set to start Friday 29th June 2018 from 12 p.m. til 2 p.m.

The final event is our annual Summer camp. After the success of last years Summer camp, Lydiate Village Centre have decided to run a second summer camp this year. The camp will run within the summer holidays for six days only.

For more information on all of these activities please contact the office through our contact us page.
