Over the past few weeks our community cafe has been blooming with new and regular faces. Its impossible to believe that next Monday – 23rd April 2018- will be our 9th session!
What is Lydiate Village Centre’s Community Cafe and over 50’s Activity Group?
The community cafe and over 50’s activity group is held every Monday, 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., (apart from bank holidays) at Lydiate Village Centre on Lambshear Lane. It provides a great outlet to meet new faces, try new things and most of all have fun! For a small donation of £3 you can get unlimited hot drinks and lunch with dessert. Here at Lydiate Village Centre we appreciate both positive and negative feedback as we are shaping this Monday group to suit you. Every week we try to have some different activity prepared such as dancing, exercise, quizes, bingo and much more.
What’s happened so far?
With thanks to groups, local services and businesses in the area we have had an enormous amount of support in providing different activities each week. So far we have played bingo, challenged our minds with quizzes, looked in awe at a live watercolour painting demonstration, started our mornings with a kick – thanks to chair exercises, opened our minds with a health and well-being talk on Aloe and reveled in the sweet smells of a flower demonstration.
What’s to come?
Over the next few months we have planned; a quiz day, U3A Glass demonstration, bingo- with prizes, health and well-being talks from Sefton CVS, physio demonstration, music by the Uketeers, knitting demonstration, talk on homewatch/ empowering and saying no and much more.
If you have any suggestions for future activities we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us through the ‘contact us’ page on the website.
Want to volunteer?
As the group is developing and growing we are looking for more volunteers to help each Monday run smoothly. If you are interested or looking for more information please contact Laura or Chrystelle on: 0151 527 2662.
